Good Earth Mill Valley is seeking a Full Time Meat and Seafood Manager!

At Good Earth, we are known for our responsibly raised meat and sustainable seafood offerings, and our Mill Valley store is seeking a Full Time Meat and Seafood Manager to help lead our dynamic Meat and Seafood team. The ideal candidate leads by example, and will support our customers with deep product knowledge, and exceptional service.

We are seeking a person with at least 1 year of leadership experience. This position requires someone who has strong knowledge of organic products, and food system issues, as well as a leadership style that is based on team building, teaching, supporting, and role-modeling. Also required is the ability to manage the finances of the department, including understanding pricing and margins, participating in buying, overseeing buyers, and maintaining accurate inventories.


*Lead a team in performance, customer service, and product knowledge
*Train, inspire and hold accountable department staff in fulfilling our customer service vision and expectations. Create atmosphere of impeccable customer service among staff
*Train and maintain department procedures, skills, and operations
*Ensure Meat and Seafood cases are clean, well stocked, and fresh at all times
*Oversight of ordering, efficient cutting, and product quality
*Fulfillment of Safety Program and cultivating a strong Safety Culture
*Maintain sanitation and presentation standards for the department
*Handle all personnel development and administration for the department
Know and communicate GE’s food, product and ingredients standards


Ideal candidate would possess:
*Basic computer skills to place orders, utilize database, and create forms

*Experience with Meat and Seafood, as well as extensive product knowledge in the field
*Minimum 2 years experience as a buyer in the natural foods industry, and minimum 1 year of supervisory or manager experience

*Ability to be on feet all day and efficiently operate all department equipment and tools
*Ability to lift, carry or transport up to 40 pounds frequently, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
*Knowledge of products and trends in the natural food industry
*Ability to motivate others to work as a positive team
*Ability to contribute to creating a positive work environment in your conduct and interaction with coworkers and managers
*Ability to take direction gracefully
