As the first certified organic brewery in the United States, Eel River Brewing has been crafting award-winning organic beers since 1995.
They are committed to quality, taste and consistency in their diverse offerings of craft beer. They also strive to be as eco-friendly as possible; their brewing facility is powered by 100% bio-mass renewable energy and has its own wastewater pretreatment facility on location.
Spent grain from the brewing process is used to feed their local, organic cattle, which are then sold as organic beef at their taproom and grill in Fortuna. Packaging and promotional items are made from recycled materials and all paper packaging is printed with soy-based inks.
Our favorite organic offerings from Eel River include:
Amber | Their first organic brew, medium bodied and malty with a touch of sweet caramel, balanced by the smooth, fruity character of noble style hops.
California Blonde Ale | Light and crispy with delicate malt characteristics, balanced by a very subtle touch of citrusy spice from Pacific Northwest organic hops.
Porter | Six malts perfectly blend in this rich smooth beer. A deep, malty body dominates this porter with notes of baking chocolate and dark caramel.
IPA | This traditional IPA balances a crisp, hoppy flavor and a light malt background. It features the floral, citrus aroma of Pacific Northwest hops.
