Summary

Marin County, and its surrounding communities, are home to a number of exceptional growers and producers. As a retailer, we are fortunate to have access to these products, and we aim to offer as many local options in our stores as possible.

When you purchase locally produced goods, you benefit the local economy and support the production of local jobs. Additionally, buying local items positively impacts the environment, as these goods require far less transportation to get to our stores.

If you’re passionate about purchasing local products, there are a couple of ways to easily find them in our stores.

Look for the Local Icon

We include icons on all of our shelf tags to make it as simple as possible for customers to find products that are in line with their food commitments and dietary needs. Products that are grown or produced within 100 miles of our stores feature a ‘Local’ icon on their shelf tags.

Check the Miles

We prioritize local growers in our organic Produce department, and we only carry non-local produce when items are not available locally. On our Produce signs, we detail the number of miles a piece of produce has traveled to reach us, as well as the farm it was grown on.
